doesn't a recent ticket issued to me appear on my record? |

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
(DHSMV) driver license database of driving infractions is
updated after the disposition of the ticket has been
resolved. That means the information is reported to
the DHSMV after the person has either paid the fine,
gone to driving school, or a verdict is rendered on a contested
or unpaid ticket. Florida law requires the law enforcement
agency that issues a ticket to provide this information
to the County Clerk of the Court within 5 working days;
in turn the Clerk of the Court has 10 working days, FROM
THE DATE OF DISPOSITION, to report this information to the
DHSMV; then the DHSMV may take several days to input this
data into their database. A non-contested ticket may take
30 - 60 days to appear on the DHSMV database. Contested
and out-of-state tickets may take several months.
